RemePhy is an Imperial College London deep tech spinout. We have built a patented plant-microbe system that remediates heavy metal contaminated brownfield land. We are backed, we are in the field, and we are growing. The science is a plant-microbe partnership. Both halves matter: the bacterial strains and how they behave in soil, and the plant hosts that take up and accumulate the metals. We need a research leader who understands both sides of that system.
This role leads the science, including field trials, regulatory pathway, research programme, academic partnerships, IP, and the data that supports our next raise. It is a founding-team-adjacent position with real authority and real equity.
We are looking for a PhD scientist grounded in plant-microbe systems -- microbiology, plant biology, phytoremediation, or environmental science -- with a track record of leading research and experience with field-based or applied work. Experience with metal hyperaccumulating plants or environmental microbial strain development is a plus. GMO regulatory experience is useful but not required; we will build that capability together.
As importantly, you need to be a collaborator. This role works in close partnership with the founding team. The science does not exist in isolation from the business here, and we need someone who gets that.
RemePhy is a pre-seed venture with a global vision. The science is strong, the regulatory pathway is long, and the team is small. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, we want to hear from you.
