SEN Teacher (SENTEACHER) Romford, England
Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teacher to join a supportive special school in East London from January. The role involves teaching a small class of Year 9–11 learners who are working between Entry Level 2 and Level 1.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher who enjoys working in a nurturing, structured setting and can engage learners with SEMH and Autism through creative, differentiated teaching.
The role:
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons to a class of 10 formal learners working between Entry Level 2 and Level 1
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that supports emotional and social development
- Adapt teaching materials to meet a range of learning styles and cognitive abilities
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to support individual needs
- Monitor progress, record outcomes, and report effectively to the SENCO and senior leadership team
- Promote independence, confidence, and resilience in all learners
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent
- Have experience teaching in SEN, SEMH, or Autism settings
- Understand the needs of learners working below age‑related expectations
- Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and strong communication skills
- Be patient, empathetic, and committed to helping young people achieve their full potential
