We are a supportive and inclusive educational organization dedicated to providing high‑quality tutoring and learning support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our goal is to ensure that every student, regardless of their challenges, has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN tutor to join and support SEN students across Peterborough. Each student requires 10‑15 hours per week, ideally during school time.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high‑quality personalised tutoring to students with SEN.
- Assess learners’ needs and plan and implement tailored, structured programmes of learning in line with young persons’ EHCP outcomes.
- Ensure children feel safe and secure.
- Work closely with teachers and parents to track student progress and adjust learning plans accordingly.
- Foster an inclusive, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and educational professionals.
- Help students develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.
- Promote independent learning and help students build confidence in their abilities.
- Proven experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (ideally 2 years).
- Experience teaching one or more of the following: English, maths, and science.
- Knowledge of different SEN categories (e.g., autism, dyslexia, ADHD, speech and language needs) and how to address them effectively.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and school staff.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to a wide range of learning needs.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- A passion for education and helping children achieve their full potential.
- A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) or relevant SEN training (e.g., SENDCO, SENTA) that is UK recognised.
