We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher for a mainstream secondary school. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a committed Humanities Teacher looking to join a supportive and innovative environment from September 2026.
The successful Humanities Teacher will be joining a school that specialises in supporting neurodivergent students aged 7-19, providing a nurturing and inclusive setting where every learner is encouraged to thrive both academically and personally.
The Role
This Humanities Teacher position will involve delivering high-quality Humanities lessons across History and Geography. The role primarily focuses on Key Stage 3, with additional teaching responsibilities at Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 4.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
- Adapting teaching approaches to meet a wide range of learning needs
- Supporting students' academic, social and emotional development
- Contributing to curriculum development
- Keeping up to date with curriculum changes
- Working collaboratively with colleagues
- Managing and directing teaching assistants effectively
The Ideal Humanities Teacher
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working as a Humanities Teacher at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge of History, Geography and/or RE
- Confidence teaching across key stages, particularly KS3
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons
- Commitment to inclusive education
- Experience teaching GCSE
- Knowledge of autism‑friendly approaches
- Experience working with KS2
- Willingness to contribute to wider school life
