We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in East London. This is a rewarding opportunity for somebody passionate about supporting children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties, helping them access education within a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. The school supports students with a range of additional needs including PMLD, complex medical needs, Autism, sensory needs, and physical disabilities.
The Role:
- Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting with personal care where required
- Supporting students with communication, engagement, and sensory activities
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN staff
- Helping to create a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Supporting students with mobility and physical needs where necessary
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous SEN or care experience
- Experience supporting PMLD students is highly desirable
- Be patient, caring, and emotionally resilient
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
