Remedy Education is currently recruiting for a Level 2 BSL Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Camden. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference supporting students with hearing impairments within a mainstream or specialist provision. We are seeking a confident communicator with BSL Level 2 (minimum) who can provide effective in-class support and help ensure students fully access learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with hearing impairments
- Use British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 to facilitate communication between students and staff
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
- Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
- Promote inclusion, independence and confidence
- Work closely with the SENCO and wider support team
Requirements
- BSL Level 2 qualification (essential)
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
- Patient, proactive and reliable approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
