Our client Wrexham council is looking for a Children's Social Worker to join their Assessment & Intervention team.
Comprehensive assessments include managing an allocated caseload which involves routine social work interventions, escalating those that are more complex and require a higher level of professional input. The social worker will consolidate and develop the skills and knowledge gained through formal qualification, mentoring, and guidance from experienced practitioners, taking on increasing levels of complexity, responsibility, and independent decision-making in their area of work.
This role includes working as part of a team providing support to adults at risk and children at risk, their families, and carers. The social worker will work with individuals needing care and support, their families, and carers in need of assistance, to identify and assess risks and identify support that minimises risk, guided by management supervision. This may involve co-working on more complex cases with an experienced Social Worker or working independently in line with the Social Worker’s development, knowledge, and qualification.
The responsibilities also include undertaking assessments, developing and designing care and support plans, and other appropriate plans (e.g., Education plans), and recommending any identified need for external support/provision from appropriate providers when required, while working within budgets and in partnership with all services to ensure the best use of resources.
