Our client Oxfordshire County Council is looking for an Assistant Team Manager to join the Children Assessment Team.
Responsibilities
- Line manage Social Workers, including Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) and Senior Practitioners, and Family Help Practitioners.
- Manage Child & Family Assessments and lead Strategy Discussions and Section 47 Investigations for children newly referred or not currently open to a statutory social work team.
- Spearhead the supervisory responsibility for newly qualified social workers as part of the Council’s Assessed & Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme.
- Ensure that the duty and assessment function within the team is managed safely, delivers outcomes effectively, and operates in a timely manner.
- Hold lead responsibility for overseeing the duty and assessment function, ensuring safe and effective delivery.
- Maintain that the role has no direct budgetary responsibility.

- Successful applicants must undertake an Enhanced Disclosure through the DBS.
