Our client Wirral MBC is looking for a Team Manager to join their Frontline Children's team.

We are looking for an experienced Team Manager to lead a frontline children's social work team across assessment, Child in Need, Child Protection, pre proceedings and care proceedings.

You will be responsible for day to day team management, quality of practice and performance, and ensuring children are seen, risks are addressed, and work progresses within timescales.

This includes oversight of assessments, CP plans, CIN work, PLO and court proceedings, with confidence to make decisions and escalate where needed.

You will provide regular supervision, challenge and support social workers, and be visible and available to your team.

You are expected to manage performance issues directly, maintain clear standards, and support staff to improve rather than avoid difficult conversations.

You will work closely with senior managers and partner agencies, promote good recording and timely visits, and ensure children remain at the centre of all decision making.

This role suits someone practical, resilient and child focused, who can balance support with accountability and keep a team on track.
