Our client Bury Council is looking for a Team Manager to join their Cared for Children team.

Key Responsibilities Provide robust supervision, coaching, and development support to a team of social workers and practitioners.

Oversee and quality assure care planning, pathway planning, risk assessments, and safety planning to ensure children achieve positive outcomes.

Lead practice with children and young people who present with complex needs, trauma, exploitation risks, placement instability, and challenging behaviours.

Ensure effective safeguarding responses with a strong understanding of Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE), Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), and Contextual Safeguarding.

Drive high-quality, child-centred practice that promotes permanence, stability, and positive life chances for children in care.

Work collaboratively with partner agencies, carers, education providers, and health professionals to deliver coordinated support.

Monitor performance, statutory compliance, and service standards across the team.

About You You will be a qualified and experienced social work leader with a strong track record in children s social care, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to support staff working with complex young people and families.

You will have sound knowledge of: Children s legislation, safeguarding, and statutory guidance.

CCE, CSE, and Contextual Safeguarding approaches.
