Our client Suffolk County Council is looking for a Senior Social Worker to join their Children's high demand team.

Role purpose
To undertake high-quality statutory social work with children, young people and families where there are concerns about welfare, safeguarding or risk. The postholder will work within a high-demand, fast-paced service, making timely and evidence-based decisions to ensure children are safe and their needs are appropriately assessed and met.
Key responsibilities
Undertake assessments of children and families in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance and local procedures.
Respond to referrals and undertake Section 17 assessments and Section 47 enquiries where required.
Identify and analyse risk, need and protective factors and make proportionate decisions regarding intervention.
Develop and implement effective child-focused plans with children, families and partner agencies.
Manage a complex caseload and prioritise work effectively within a high-demand environment.
Prepare high-quality assessments, reports and records within statutory timescales.
Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, child protection conferences, reviews and other multi-agency meetings.
Work closely with police, health, education, early help, legal services and other professionals.
Ensure the child's voice, wishes and feelings remain central to assessment and decision-making.
Undertake statutory visits and maintain accurate, timely case recording.
Initiate and contribute to pre-proceedings and court processes where necessary.
Support less experienced social workers and students through advice, consultation and professional guidance.
Contribute to team development, reflective practice, audits and continuous improvement.
Participate in duty/on-call arrangements where required.
