Our client the Royal Borough of Greenwich is looking for a Qualified social worker to join their Safeguarding team.

Job functions include:

  • Model reliable effective social work practice that safeguards and promotes the welfare of children in need, including children in complex situations with high levels of need and risk.
  • Ensure children maintain a reasonable standard of health and development, receive reasonable parenting, and a sense of permanence through secure attachment to their parents or carers.
  • Take action to minimise the effect of disabilities for children and give them the opportunity to lead lives which are as normal as possible.
  • Model effective planning and decision making to secure timely permanence for children who cannot live at home.
  • Ensure the needs of looked after children are met in accordance with their care plan and provide the right support as care leavers are ready to fulfil their potential as adults.
  • Place children at the centre of professional activity, seeking and using their views and wishes (appropriate to their age and understanding) to understand the child’s world and shape the level of intervention and type of help offered.
  • Provide effective professional leadership and co-ordinate resolution of professional disagreement amongst professionals working together to meet the needs of children in need, including those with a child protection plan.
