Our client Shropshire council is looking for a Qualified social worker to join their Kinship fostering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Form K assessments to assess connected persons as foster carers.
- Undertake viability assessments to inform early permanence planning.
- Carry out SGO assessments, including support plans and court reports.
- Provide regular supervision and support to approved kinship foster carers.
- Support carers to manage placement challenges, contact arrangements, and transitions to permanence.
- Work closely with children's social workers and multi-agency partners to ensure coordinated care planning.
- Ensure all work is child-centred, evidence-based, and within statutory timescales.
About You
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Experience in:
- Kinship/connected persons fostering (Form K)
- SGO assessments and permanence planning
- Viability assessments
- Supporting and supervising foster carers
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills for court and panel.
- Confident in managing risk, safeguarding, and complex family dynamics.
- Committed to achieving stable, safe outcomes for children.
