Our client Trafford council is looking for a Children's Social Worker to join their Emergency Duty Team.
Duties:
- Provides emergency social work support for children and families outside normal office hours.
- Responds to urgent safeguarding concerns, child protection referrals, and crises.
- Undertakes risk assessments to ensure children's immediate safety and welfare.
- Makes emergency decisions regarding accommodation or protection of children.
- Works closely with police, hospitals, and other emergency services.
- Attends emergency strategy discussions and safeguarding meetings.
- Supports children at risk of harm, abuse, neglect, or family breakdown.
- Arranges emergency placements for children when required.
- Provides advice and support to professionals and families during crises.
- Maintains accurate records and handovers for daytime social work teams.
- Ensures all actions comply with safeguarding legislation and local authority procedures.
- Manages high-pressure situations and makes timely, informed decisions to protect children and young people.
