  • Model effective practice that places children at the centre of professional activity, and that their views and wishes (appropriate to their age and understanding) are sought and used to understand the child's world and shape the level of intervention and type of help offered.
  • Provide effective professional leadership, co-ordinate and resolution of professional disagreement amongst professionals working together to meet the needs of children in need, including those with a child protection plan, privately fostered children, and looked after children and care leavers.
  • Provide professional leadership within the team; take delegated responsibility for developing less experienced social workers and learning and improvement actions; promote high standards of professional conduct and compliance with good practice standards; act as a change champion in implementing innovation, service improvement and changes in organisational arrangements.
