SEN English Teacher - Enfield

Start: September

Type: Full-Time Long-Term Potential Permanent

We are working with a highly supportive SEN school in Enfield that is seeking a committed and adaptable English Teacher to join their team from September, teaching KS3-KS4. This is a rewarding opportunity to teach English in a specialist environment where learning is personalised, progress is individual, and success is measured in confidence, engagement, and achievement as well as academics. You will be joining a collaborative and experienced staff team who are passionate about removing barriers to learning and supporting every young person to reach their potential.

The Role

  • Teaching English to KS3 and KS4 pupils with a range of SEN needs
  • Planning and delivering accessible, engaging lessons tailored to individual learning levels
  • Supporting students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning needs
  • Creating a calm, structured, and positive classroom environment
  • Differentiating work to ensure all learners can access and progress
  • Working closely with TAs, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
  • Contributing to EHCP targets and tracking pupil progress

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs
  • Calm, consistent classroom presence with strong behaviour management
  • Creative and flexible approach to lesson planning and delivery
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
  • SEN experience is welcome but not essential. The school is open to mainstream teachers who are looking to transition into specialist education.
