A lovely and welcoming primary school in Lewisham is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil from January. This full-time temporary role is ideal for someone who is patient, consistent and committed to helping pupils thrive both academically and emotionally.
Role: Teaching Assistant, Year 1
Start Date: Monday 2nd February
Location: Lewisham, London
Contract: Full time - temporary (January to the end of the academic year)
Pay: £100 - £120 per week
Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil throughout the school day
- Work closely with the class teacher to adapt learning activities and resources
- Support engagement, focus and positive behaviour using agreed strategies
- Encourage independence, confidence and inclusion within the classroom
- Monitor progress and feedback observations to teaching staff
Requirements:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
- Experience supporting pupils in KS1 or a similar age range
- Able to build positive, respectful and trusting relationships with pupils
- Calm, patient and proactive approach to learning and behaviour support
- Available full time from January for the duration of the role
