Our client Wigan Council is looking for a Children's Social Worker to join their MASH team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Receive and review referrals from the public and professionals
  • Gather and share information with partner agencies (police, health, education)
  • Assess risk and make safeguarding decisions
  • Determine whether cases need further social work intervention
  • Provide advice and guidance to referrers
  • Record decisions clearly and accurately within tight timescales
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment (50% home, 50% office work; no visits, all work is completed via phones/emails)
  • Signposting to Level 2/3/4 intervention
