Our client Wigan Council is looking for a Children's Social Worker to join their MASH team.
Key responsibilities:
- Receive and review referrals from the public and professionals
- Gather and share information with partner agencies (police, health, education)
- Assess risk and make safeguarding decisions
- Determine whether cases need further social work intervention
- Provide advice and guidance to referrers
- Record decisions clearly and accurately within tight timescales
- Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment (50% home, 50% office work; no visits, all work is completed via phones/emails)
- Signposting to Level 2/3/4 intervention
