Our client Swindon Council is looking for an Experienced Social worker to join their Disability Children's team.
Job Purpose The Experienced Social Worker will provide high-quality social work services to children and young people with disabilities and their families.
The post holder will undertake statutory assessments, safeguard children, coordinate multi-agency support, and ensure children with complex needs receive appropriate services to maximise their wellbeing, development, and independence.
The role requires skilled assessment, effective partnership working, and a commitment to promoting the voice of the child.
Key Responsibilities Manage a complex caseload of children and young people with disabilities, including those who are Children in Need, subject to Child Protection Plans, Looked After Children, or involved in care proceedings.
Undertake comprehensive Child and Family Assessments in accordance with statutory guidance and organisational procedures.
Assess children's developmental needs, parenting capacity, family functioning, and environmental factors.
Complete specialist assessments relating to disability, including assessments for short breaks, specialist services, equipment, and support packages.
Develop, implement, monitor, and review Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, and Care Plans.
