Are you a patient, enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

Remedy is currently recruiting SEND Learning Support Assistants to work within schools and specialist education settings across Greenwich and the surrounding areas.

The Role

As a SEND LSA, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, which may include Autism (ASC), ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs, social and emotional needs, and physical disabilities.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting pupils with their learning and engagement in the classroom
  • Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills
  • Supporting individual education and behaviour plans
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff
  • Providing a calm, positive and nurturing learning environment
  • Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour where required

The Ideal Candidate

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
  • Are patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Are reliable, adaptable and confident working as part of a team
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Experience within a school or SEND setting is desirable, although candidates with relevant experience from care, youth work, support work or other child-focused settings are also encouraged to apply.
