We are working with families in Barking and Dagenham who are seeking a female Outreach Tutor to support two Year 5/6 students with Autism in their home settings. This role involves working 1:1 for 2 hours with each student and providing structured, personalised learning support outside of a school environment.
The role:
- Provide 1:1 outreach tuition to two students with Autism
- Deliver structured sessions using visual aids and Makaton
- Support learning and engagement at Year 5/6 level
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and families
- Follow individual learning plans and consistent routines
The ideal candidate:
- Is female (as requested by the families)
- Has experience working with children with Autism
- Is confident using Makaton and visual communication strategies
- Is calm, patient, and consistent in approach
