This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Working alongside the Teacher/Tutor and wider staff team, you will support small groups of up to four students in the morning and four students in the afternoon, providing tailored support to meet each student's individual needs. The role focuses on building positive relationships, encouraging engagement and helping students develop both academically and personally.

Students within the provision may have a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, communication difficulties and other learning challenges. You'll play a key role in creating a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment where every student feels safe, supported and encouraged to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students during lessons, adapting your approach to meet individual learning needs.
  • Work closely with the Teacher/Tutor to deliver engaging learning activities.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage confidence, participation and independence.
  • Promote positive behaviour using consistent, patient and restorative approaches.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, resources and maintaining a safe learning environment.
  • Support students with emotional regulation, social development and personal wellbeing where required.
  • Encourage students to develop independence, resilience and self-confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external professionals where appropriate.
  • Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teaching team.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
  • Has experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (preferred).
  • Is patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with students.
  • Can remain calm, flexible and resilient in a variety of situations.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is proactive and willing to support students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people.
  • Brings a warm, approachable and positive attitude every day.
Why Join?
  • Small class sizes, allowing you to provide meaningful one-to-one and small-group support.
  • A welcoming and supportive specialist provision.
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.
  • Consistent Monday-Friday working hours with a good work-life balance.
  • Competitive daily rates with both PAYE and Umbrella payment options.
