Remedy Education are currently recruiting for a Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner / Mentor to join a specialist SEMH school in Tower Hamlets.
The role will involve supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them to regulate emotions, manage behaviour, build confidence and engage positively with education.
The Role
Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring
Support pupils with emotional regulation, anxiety and challenging behaviour
Build strong, trusting relationships with young people
Deliver wellbeing and pastoral interventions
Support pupils during difficult or dysregulated periods
Work closely with teaching, pastoral and safeguarding teams
Help improve engagement, attendance and behaviour
Maintain appropriate safeguarding and intervention records
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
A calm, patient and resilient approach
Good safeguarding knowledge
Experience within a school, PRU, alternative provision, youth work, mental health or similar setting
Experience as a Learning Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, Pastoral Support Worker, Youth Worker or Mental Health Practitioner would be highly desirable.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is preferred.
