Makaton Trained Teaching Assistant Required
Remedy Education is currently recruiting for a Makaton Trained Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-established SEN school in Waltham Forest from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Speech and Language difficulties and complex communication needs.
The successful candidate will use Makaton to help pupils develop their communication, confidence and independence, working closely with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team. This role would suit someone who is patient, compassionate and passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
The Role
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups throughout the school day.
- Use Makaton to support communication and language development.
- Assist pupils with Autism and complex communication needs.
