Are you looking for a teaching role where you can take ownership of your own class for the remainder of the academic year?
A welcoming primary school in Southwark is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher starting ASAP on a long term basis.
This long-term Year 2 Teacher role will run through to July 2027, giving you the opportunity to settle into the school, build meaningful relationships with your pupils and make a real impact on their progress throughout the year.
The successful teacher will also have the opportunity to move into a permanent position from September 2027.
The Role
As a Year 2 Teacher in Southwark, you will:
- Take full responsibility for a Year 2 class
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum
- Prepare pupils for the important transition towards Key Stage 2
- Adapt learning to support a range of abilities and needs
- Monitor pupil progress and use assessment effectively
- Create a positive and well-managed classroom
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
- Play an active role in the wider school community
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous primary teaching experience or relevant teacher training
- Good understanding of the KS1 curriculum
- Strong classroom and behaviour management
- A positive, organised and enthusiastic approach
- High expectations for pupil progress and behaviour
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply
