Remedy Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic University Graduate to join a supportive and inclusive school in South East London as a Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a psychology graduate who is passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You'll gain valuable hands-on experience in a school setting - ideal for anyone considering a future career in education, psychology, or therapy.
The role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning plans
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence, and social skills
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Use your understanding of psychology to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a degree in Psychology (or related subject)
- Be passionate about working with children and supporting their development
- Have experience working with young people, either in schools or through volunteering (desirable)
- Be proactive, patient, and able to build strong relationships with pupils
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS certificate
