This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference for deaf and hearing-impaired pupils, supporting their learning, communication, and development in a specialist setting.

We are looking for a confident, adaptable teacher who can deliver engaging, inclusive lessons using British Sign Language (BSL) to ensure all pupils have full access to the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons using BSL for deaf and hearing-impaired pupils
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and the SEN team
  • Promote inclusive classroom practices and positive engagement
  • Monitor pupil progress and support strong educational outcomes
  • Foster pupils' communication, confidence, and independence

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • BSL qualification (Level 2 or above preferred)
  • Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired pupils is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of inclusive and differentiated teaching
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS (on Update Service or willing to apply)
