A specialist SEN school in Greenwich is seeking a passionate Secondary PMLD Teacher to join their team with an immediate start available. This role involves working with pupils aged 11-18 with profound and multiple learning difficulties within a highly specialised setting. The successful PMLD Teacher will deliver engaging, sensory-based learning tailored to individual pupil needs while creating a structured and positive classroom environment. This position is ideal for someone with strong SEN experience and a genuine passion for inclusive primary education.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver personalised lessons as a PMLD Teacher
  • Teach pupils aged 11-18 with profound and multiple learning difficulties
  • Deliver sensory-based learning activities suited to complex learning needs
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet communication, physical, and developmental needs
  • Work alongside teaching assistants, therapists, and SEN professionals
  • Use communication tools including PECS, sensory resources, and interactive learning approaches
  • Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP targets
  • Create a calm, safe, and engaging classroom environment
  • Support pupils with communication, engagement, and life skills activities

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal PMLD Teacher will be proactive, patient, resilient, and experienced working within SEN or PMLD settings. Qualified Teacher Status and previous experience teaching pupils aged 11-18 within SEN education are highly desirable.
