The Role:
- Plan and deliver practical Construction lessons to secondary-aged students
- Support pupils with construction skills, theory and industry knowledge
- Maintain a safe, structured and engaging workshop/classroom environment
- Teach safe use of tools, materials and equipment
- Adapt lessons to support different learning needs and ability levels
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and employability skills
- Work closely with staff to support student progress and achievement
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- QTS, teaching experience, or strong construction/trade experience
- Experience teaching Construction, vocational subjects or practical skills is desirable
- A strong understanding of health and safety in practical environments
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- A calm, patient and organised approach
- The ability to engage students who enjoy hands-on learning
- A valid enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
