Role Overview - Graduate Teaching Assistant

The successful Graduate Teaching Assistant will support teachers across the classroom while working closely with pupils who require additional help with their learning. The Graduate Teaching Assistant will assist with both small group interventions and 1:1 support, helping pupils build confidence and make academic progress.

Responsibilities of the Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • Supporting pupils with 1:1 learning support and small group activities
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons
  • Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs
  • Helping pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons
  • Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to support pupil development
  • Encouraging confidence, participation and positive behaviour
