We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly primary school in Havering. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils' learning and help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Teaching assistants typically support individual pupils or small groups while helping teachers deliver lessons and classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.
  • Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning in subjects such as literacy and numeracy.
  • Assist pupils who require additional support, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Help prepare classroom materials, learning resources, and displays.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support classroom management.
  • Monitor pupils' progress and report feedback to the teacher.
  • Assist with supervision during break times, school trips, and other activities.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or youth setting (preferred).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A caring, patient, and supportive attitude towards children.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
