Our client Leicestershire county council is looking for a Senior Social Worker to join their Child Protection team.
Candidates must be experienced child protection SW, Holding a caseload of up to 16 cases on child protection pre-proceedings plans Job Purpose To provide high-quality statutory social work services to children and families where there are concerns about significant harm.
The post holder will undertake complex casework, lead safeguarding interventions, support less experienced social workers, and ensure that children's welfare remains paramount in accordance with relevant legislation, local authority policies, and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities Manage a complex caseload involving children in need, child protection, pre-proceedings, and court proceedings.
Undertake assessments of children and families in accordance with statutory guidance and local procedures.
Develop, implement, and review child protection plans and care plans.
Lead safeguarding investigations under relevant child protection procedures.
Prepare high-quality reports for court, child protection conferences, looked after children reviews, and other statutory meetings.
Present evidence confidently in court proceedings when required.
