Our client, Durham County Council is looking for an Independent Reviewing Officer to join their team. Your normal base for work will be Coulson Street, Spennymoor but you may be required to work at any Council workplace within County Durham.
The post holder will act as an Independent Chairperson in Children in Care Reviews, and chair Child Protection Conferences, private fostering reviews, secure accommodation reviews, foster carer reviews, disruption meetings and complex planning meetings. He/she will develop and maintain a range of quality assurance systems in relation to departmental policies and procedures, government guidance and Department of Education and Health P.A.F. requirements.
The post holder will play a key role, linking with managers and staff in Children and Young People's Services and other agencies, in the development of best practice in care planning and service provision for children and young people.
