About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join our thriving secondary school in North London. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering creativity, innovation, and practical skills in a well-equipped learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive DT lessons in accordance with the national curriculum.
  • Teach a range of DT specialisms such as product design, resistant materials, graphics, or textiles, depending on expertise.
  • Create a safe and stimulating classroom environment that encourages students to develop their practical and design thinking skills.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including participation in school events, clubs, and enrichment activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and progression across the DT curriculum.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A degree in Design & Technology or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching DT at the secondary level is preferred.
  • Strong subject knowledge and up-to-date understanding of DT curriculum developments.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
