Our client Leicestershire County Council is looking for a Children's Senior Social Worker to join their Safeguarding team.
Main duties:
- Manage complex safeguarding and child protection cases involving children and families at risk.
- Complete statutory assessments, Section 47 enquiries, and risk assessments.
- Develop, implement, and review child protection and child in need plans.
- Carry out regular home visits and ensure the child's voice is central to decision-making.
- Prepare reports for court, child protection conferences, and statutory reviews.
- Work closely with police, schools, health services, and other partner agencies.
- Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, core groups, and safeguarding conferences.
- Initiate legal proceedings where necessary to safeguard children.
- Maintain accurate case records in line with legislation and local authority procedures.
- Support and mentor junior social workers and provide practice guidance.
- Assist team managers with complex decision-making and quality assurance.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation, policies, and professional standards.
