Remedy Education are working with a welcoming primary school in Barking who are looking for a strong HLTA to support pupils across Year 5 and Year 6. This is not a general classroom support role. The school need someone who is confident with upper KS2 Maths and English and able to help pupils make real progress. You will be supporting children who need extra help with core subjects, running interventions, booster groups and small group sessions.

The role:

  • Full time
  • £120 - £160 per day
  • Primary school setting
  • Upper KS2 focus
  • Maths and English intervention support
  • Small group and 1:1 work
  • Potential class cover when required

The school are looking for someone who can come in and make an immediate impact. You must be strong in Maths and English, confident supporting Year 5 and Year 6 pupils, and able to deliver clear, structured support that helps children close gaps in learning. You will be working closely with class teachers to identify pupils who need additional support, deliver targeted sessions and help prepare pupils for key assessments. The successful HLTA will be proactive, reliable and confident managing small groups.

The ideal HLTA will have:

  • Experience working in a primary school
  • Strong knowledge of the Year 5 and Year 6 curriculum
  • Confidence supporting Maths and English
  • Experience delivering interventions or booster sessions
  • Good behaviour management
  • The ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Previous HLTA experience or experience covering pre-planned lessons
