We are working closely with a supportive school in South London who are seeking an Autism Support Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis. This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), who is patient, nurturing and confident in using tailored strategies to support learning and emotional regulation.

The role:

  • Providing dedicated one-to-one and small group support for pupils with autism
  • Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
  • Implementing individual education plans and personalised strategies
  • Supporting sensory needs and positive behaviour approaches
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and therapists
  • Promoting independence, confidence and inclusion

The ideal candidate:

  • Has experience supporting children with autism in a school or care setting
  • Is calm, empathetic and resilient
  • Has knowledge of strategies such as visual supports, sensory regulation or PECS
  • Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
