Role Purpose -

As a member of the Asset Management Team, contribute towards achievement of the services aims and objectives as contained in the Housing Ambition Plan.

  • As a member of the Housing Investment Team, contribute towards achievement of the services aims and objectives as contained in the Asset management strategy.

Contribute towards planning, delivery and management of housing investment, capital works and asset sustainability across the Council's housing stock.

  • To act as lead professional in all aspects of stock condition inspections, and to provide expert professional and technical advice in all matters relating to the building stock in a customer focused manner.
  • To provide a professional and efficient service, ensuring that works are specified within the constraints of time, budget, quality and performance and in compliance with statutory legislation, building regulations, Decent Homes Standards, health and safety policies and financial regulations.
  • To carry out condition surveys for dwellings, communal areas, garages and other related Housing assets, internally and externally, highlighting any deficiencies, which will inform future programmes of work.
  • To co-ordinate the work of agency staff undertaking stock condition surveys to inform on the investment programmes on a rolling basis.
  • To support the Housing Investment Manager in the delivery of the Council's Housing Investment Programme, providing professional building surveying input to capital planning, option appraisal and investment prioritisation.
  • The postholder will work closely with the Housing Investment Manager, Programme Managers, Data Analyst, finance officers and other internal stakeholders to support the effective delivery of LB Harrow's housing investment priorities.
  • Due to the professional and technical experience of the postholder it will be necessary to give guidance and support to other non-technically qualified staff.
