Learning Support Assistant - SEN School
Remedy Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a well-established specialist SEN school in Enfield.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Speech and Language needs, and complex learning needs. The school provides a supportive and nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential.
The Role
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups across the school.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Support pupils with their communication, social, emotional and academic development.
- Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Use visual resources, sensory activities and communication aids where appropriate.
- Encourage pupils' independence and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Assist with personal care where required (training provided if necessary).
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Care Worker or Support Worker.
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD, SEMH or complex needs.
- A patient, caring and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one).
