We are looking for a motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic Specialist Teaching Assistant to join one of our client specialist primary schools in Lambeth. This exciting opportunity offers you the chance to work with children who have moderate to complex learning difficulties, as well as challenges in communication & interaction, social, emotional and mental health, and sensory or physical/medical needs. Your role will be crucial in helping pupils reach their potential and achieve positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Supporting children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
- Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning plans to meet individual needs
- Helping to manage social, emotional, and behavioural needs in a supportive environment
- Encouraging communication and interaction through a range of strategies and tools
- Supporting students with physical and sensory needs, ensuring full participation in the curriculum
- Collaborating with the teaching team to monitor progress and adapt support as required
The Ideal Candidate
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and patient
- Committed to improving the educational experience of children with special educational needs
- Able to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Flexible, proactive, and able to think on your feet
- Experience of working with children with learning difficulties or special educational needs is preferred but not essential
- A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, is desirable
