About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Practitioner to join a specialist educational setting supporting students with complex special educational needs. This is a rewarding role offering the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, working closely with class teachers to provide personalised support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with special needs using a calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Work collaboratively with class teachers to create and maintain a safe, positive learning environment
- Assist in developing and delivering individualised care plans and personalised learning experiences
- Promote development of life skills, independence, and social interaction among students
- Actively engage in school life, including clubs and SEN-focused programs
- Communicate effectively with staff, pupils, and families, demonstrating outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working in SEN schools or specialist settings (essential)
- Educated to at least Level 1 in English and Maths
- A flexible, calm, and compassionate approach to supporting students with complex needs
- Enthusiasm for engaging with school activities beyond the classroom
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
