We are looking for a female SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment working with pupils who present with social, emotional and mental health needs, including behaviours that can be challenging. This role would suit someone calm, resilient and confident supporting behaviour, while building positive relationships and providing consistent structure throughout the school day.

The Role

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assist with behaviour regulation and emotional support
  • Help pupils stay engaged with learning and routines
  • Use clear boundaries, consistency and positive reinforcement
  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff
  • Support de-escalation when pupils are dysregulated

  • Have experience supporting SEMH needs or behaviour in a school or care setting
  • Be calm, patient and emotionally resilient
