SEMH Teaching Assistant
Remedy are seeking a resilient, empathetic, and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs in one of our welcoming partner schools in Lewisham. This is a highly rewarding role for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact on young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support.

What you\βll do as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
- Assist in implementing behaviour strategies and personalised support plans
- Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and a positive sense of wellbeing
- Help pupils develop confidence, self-esteem, and coping strategies
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral teams
- Create a calm, safe, and structured environment that supports learning and emotional growth
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviours
What we\βre looking for:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs (highly desirable)
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach at all times
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, flexible, and resilient attitude
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
