Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Welfare Officer to join a specialist education setting supporting children and young people with complex additional needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a caring nature who is passionate about promoting the health, safety, and wellbeing of pupils while working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
The Role
As the Medical Welfare Officer, you will
- Provide medical care and day-to-day wellbeing support to pupils.
- Administer prescribed medication safely and accurately.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals to ensure medical plans are current and effective.
- Attend medical reviews and multidisciplinary meetings where required.
- Maintain the safe storage and administration of medication and medical supplies.
- Ensure school procedures relating to first aid, seizures, moving and handling, and feeding are followed at all times.
- Support the Senior Leadership Team in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all pupils.
About You
The ideal candidate will have
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Experience working with children or young people (experience within SEND is desirable).
- Good IT and administrative skills.
- A caring, professional, and proactive approach.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
