A welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Romford is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Secondary SEN Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to continue into the new academic year from September 2026.
The successful candidate will teach a small class of secondary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that support each student's individual learning journey. The Role
- Full-time Secondary SEN Teacher position.
- Immediate start available.

- Full planning, preparation and assessment responsibilities.
- Deliver engaging, creative and differentiated lessons across the secondary curriculum.
- Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of SEN.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, the SENCO and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
- Monitor student progress through personalised learning targets and provide regular feedback to parents and colleagues.
- Create a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence and achievement.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has experience teaching secondary-aged pupils, ideally within an SEN setting.
- Has a good understanding of a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech and Language Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).
- Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management using positive and restorative approaches.
- Is patient, resilient and committed to supporting young people with additional needs.
- Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and contributes positively to the wider school community.
