Qualified Tutor Wanted - Make a Difference Through 1:1 Tuition. Remedy Tutors are seeking experienced and qualified tutors to support young people across Havering. This is a rewarding opportunity for teachers and tutors who are passionate about helping learners achieve their potential through personalised, one-to-one support. We work with students across a range of needs, including Core Subjects (English, Maths, and Science), SEN, SEMH, alternative provision, and those requiring additional academic support.

Essential Requirement

To be considered for this role, you must hold a UK-recognised teaching qualification such as QTS or PGCE.

The Role

You will provide tailored tuition sessions designed around each learner's individual needs, helping to build confidence, engagement, and academic progress. Sessions may take place:

  • In students' homes
  • In schools
  • In libraries or community settings
  • Online

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons
  • Support students in English, Maths, Science, or your specialist subject area
  • Adapt learning for students with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs
  • Build positive relationships with learners and families
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback and reports
  • Help students develop confidence, independence, and resilience

What We're Looking For

  • UK-recognised teaching qualification (QTS or PGCE essential)
  • Experience teaching or tutoring in the UK
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Experience supporting learners with SEN and/or SEMH (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
