Salary: 100 - 120 per day

Are you passionate about supporting young people who need a fresh start? A successful and inclusive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Greenwich is seeking a resilient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students who have been excluded from mainstream education and require additional behavioural, emotional and academic support.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with students aged 11-16 with SEMH and behavioural needs
  • Support learning across the curriculum in 1:1 and small group settings
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual support plans
  • Help manage behaviour using de-escalation and restorative strategies
  • Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and self-esteem
  • Support staff in maintaining a calm, safe and structured environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour
  • A calm, empathetic and consistent approach to behaviour management
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, SEMH or SEND is highly desirable
  • Relevant training (e.g. Team Teach) is a plus, but not essential
  • A background in youth work, care, SEN, or education is advantageous
