Remedy Education are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Outreach Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition for a looked after child living within a residential care home in Ilford. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to a young person who requires personalised education outside of a mainstream school setting.
The role will involve delivering 2 hours of tuition per day, Monday to Friday, with a focus on the core subjects.
The Role:
As an Outreach Tutor, you will deliver tailored 1:1 lessons in English, Maths and Science, adapting your teaching to meet the student’s individual learning needs, ability and confidence levels. You will play an important role in helping the student re-engage with learning, build trust, develop confidence and make positive academic progress within a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 tuition within a residential care home setting
- Teach core subjects including English, Maths and Science
- Plan and adapt lessons to suit the student’s ability, learning style and needs
- Build a positive, consistent and trusting relationship with the student
- Encourage engagement, confidence and motivation towards learning
- Monitor progress and provide feedback
