Remedy Education are looking for an experienced and confident Admin Officer to join a Secondary PRU based in the East Ham / Plaistow area. This is more than a standard school administration position. The school are looking for someone who can take ownership of their responsibilities, use their initiative and provide an element of leadership within the administration team. The successful candidate will need to be organised, resilient and confident working within a busy PRU environment. You should be someone who can think on their feet, follow instructions accurately and deal with situations independently when required.
Role responsibilities
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the school office
- Taking responsibility for key administrative processes
- Providing guidance and leadership within the admin function when required
- Maintaining accurate pupil records and school information
- Using CPOMS to record and manage safeguarding and pastoral information
- Working with Bromcom or a similar school MIS such as SIMS
- Communicating professionally with staff, pupils, parents and external professionals
- Prioritising workloads and responding effectively to changing situations
- Supporting senior leadership with administrative tasks
- Handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately
Ideal candidate
- Have previous school administration experience
- Have experience using CPOMS
- Ideally have experience with Bromcom, although strong SIMS experience will also be considered
- Be confident, assertive and able to demonstrate a strong personality
- Have excellent organisation and communication skills
- Be comfortable working within a Secondary PRU environment
- Be able to use their own initiative rather than needing constant direction
- Follow instructions accurately and see tasks through to completion
- Remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Be willing to take on additional responsibility and demonstrate leadership when required
