Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one tutoring in Maths, English, or Functional Skills to students with SEMH needs.
- Adapt lesson plans to meet individual learning and emotional needs.
- Build positive relationships with students, fostering trust and engagement.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed.
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to ensure holistic support for the student.
Key Skills and Experience
- Proven experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ideally in an outreach or tutoring capacity.
- Knowledge of different SEN categories (e. g., autism, dyslexia, ADHD, speech and language needs).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and school staff.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to a wide range of learning needs.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
- A passion for education and helping children achieve their full potential.
- A teaching qualification (e. g., PGCE, QTS) or relevant SEN training (e. g., SENDCO, SEN TA experience) is desirable but not essential.
